Terms and conditions
A few rules about how updatelabs.it is used, what you will find on it and how a request works. Using the site means accepting them; if they don’t work for you, write to us instead of using it.
Who runs the site
The site belongs to Update Labs, the sole proprietorship of Davide Scalera, based in Lecce, Italy, VAT number 16605771001. For anything at all: info@updatelabs.it.
What the content is for
The lab pages and the guides describe how we work and answer the questions we get asked most often. They are general information rather than advice on your case: before a decision with consequences, let’s talk it through.
We check what we publish, and things change. If you are reading a guide months later, look at the date it was last updated.
Offers, prices and bookings
Nothing is bought or paid for on the site. When you ask about a lab’s offer or book the full Update Check, you are sending us a request: we reply with a written proposal setting out what we will do, when, at what price and how payment works. A contract exists only once you accept that proposal.
Published prices are in euros and include VAT: nothing is added on top. Prices marked “from” are a starting point, and the price that counts is the one in the written proposal. Where a page of the site and the proposal differ, the proposal prevails.
The Update Check and the other assessments
The results you get from the Update Check and from the other assessments on the site are indicative. They tell you whether it is worth looking further. They are not advice, and they commit neither of us to anything.
Text, images and the material you receive
Everything on the site, text included, is ours or used with the permission of whoever holds the rights. Company and organisation names belong to them.
The checklists and any other material you receive from the site can be used and passed around inside your company as much as you like: that is what we made them for. What we ask is that you don’t republish them as your own, don’t sell them, and don’t take the Update Labs name off them.
If you want to reuse part of a guide in a document or a course of yours, ask us: the answer is almost always yes.
Links to other sites
When a link takes you to another site, that site has its own rules and its own privacy notice, and we do not control what is on it.
Availability and liability
We keep the site running and up to date, and it may still be unreachable for maintenance or because of a hosting problem. We are not liable for damage arising from the use you make of the information published here, save for what the law does not allow to be excluded.
Personal data
How we handle the data you leave us is set out in the Privacy Policy, linked at the foot of every page.
Changes, governing law and jurisdiction
We can change these terms: when we do, the version and date below change, and the version that applies is the one published while you are using the site.
Italian law applies. The courts of Lecce have jurisdiction, save for the consumer’s place of residence where the law provides for it.
